Guadalupe Tlatenchi

I’m Guadalupe Tlatenchi a young ambitious fashion entrepreneur. I love everything about fashion but, what I love most is creating it. I see myself as a “Clothing Architect”. Not only do I design but, I also create the pattern, or shall we say, “The Blue Print”. I’m a “Builder” too! My grandmother taught me how to cut and sew while I was growing up and it’s a skill that I will forever be grateful to her for teaching me.

I grew up in South Los Angeles, where I now have a manufacturing business called GTLA Apparel Development, Inc. I started this business with a dream of someday manufacturing my own clothing brand in my own facility. So far, I am two and half years in and let me tell you, it’s been a challenge, but I love what I do and I feel the experience has been worth it. I have so many plans for GTLA. I don’t want to be looked at as just another sewing shop in LA. I want GTLA to be a place where our clients are able have this amazing experience where we can bring their ideas into something tangible and real. A place where I can continue to grow and build a team of people who are able to produce our garments at a high-level of craftsmanship because of their love for the trade. I am still working on this but, I know that someday I will be writing about how I made this happen.

Loopé is my brand. It’s brand where we don’t just create full collections but one that creates unique items that are produced by demand. We do not want to saturate the planet with unwanted goods. We are not a fast-fashion brand. I started by making some belts with buckles that I found at a close-out trim store. I’m also a fan of luxury but, since I can’t yet afford my own expensive taste, I made my own belt out of 100% silk. Making it a unique piece. I mean, who doesn’t love a nice fancy belt?!

Well, people loved my belt so much that we had to supply the demand. I started selling my belts “made-to-order”. Then I made some mesh blouses. They too were a hit! Like all of our goods we want to provide the best product possible. This top is special because it is sewn with a merrow stitch that provides a nice and clean finish.

I am very happy where all this is headed and I encourage you to support both of my businesses. With my businesses I have been able to create jobs in my community and with your help, we can create more. I invite you all to sign up to my blog where I plan to take you through my journey. I plan to give you insight on how our products are created, blog about fashion, products and share my custom projects.
